You've just arrived after a long journey and unfolded yourself from your car. You heave a big sigh, breathe in the fresh country air, have a huge stretch, feel the atmosphere cosset you in a comforting hug and open the front door to the warm welcome of the light and airy hallway leading to the downstairs cloakroom with toilet and washbasin, spacious coat cupboard and utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, iron and board and full sized freezer. You clock the Ordnance Survey maps on the windowsill just waiting to be explored and look forward to investigating the guest book on the desk (Always a good sign!) Now then, what next? 

You open the door which leads to the open plan living area, dining area and fully equipped kitchen, all tastefully decorated and with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. It's bigger than you think! The kitchen provides a double electric oven, microwave, two fridges, dishwasher, four ring electric hob, kettle, toaster and a well planned working space. (Please note that although a woodburner is installed it is not in use.)

You just love the whole layout...the dining area and not just one but two living areas allow you to eat in comfort, sit by the french windows and enjoy the captivating views of the garden, birds and wildlife (or open the doors wide and sit outside on the terrace on warm summer days), Or you can cosy up in comfortable riser recliner armchairs in front of the television or with a good book. After putting your feet up with a cuppa, a piece of farmed baked cake or biscuits from the welcome basket (there's milk waiting for you in the fridge and a selection of teas and coffees in a kitchen cupboard..) you investigate the Freeview TV with DVD player, a selection of DVDs, loads of books, puzzles and board games which are all available to keep you entertained if you just feel like a bit of rest and relaxation. 

Where are the bedrooms? Easy climb stairs with a strong balustrade from the living area lead to the landing, from which you will find a double bedroom with Freeview TV, single bedroom and shower room with walk in shower cubicle which has a fold down seat and grab handles plus a wonderful showerhead, wash basin, toilet and heated towel rail. Both bedrooms enjoy beautiful views across the garden and masses of hanging and drawer space. Fresh, clean linen on the beds and soft towels are laid out for you. Feet up! 

There'll be no hidden extras here. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. The terrace has a small table and chairs for al fresco dining and the adjacent carport has space for bicycles as well. There is space for a second car on the driveway beyond the carport.

Fancy a stroll around our patch of countryside? Just follow the footpath from our garden gate through our paddocks to meet our small flock of Soay sheep and our retired ponies, Mallow and Gracie, then follow the footpath down the hill to the bridge at the bottom where you can link into the wider footpath network around glorious local countryside.

We welcome children of 14 years and over. 

Please note that we do not provide for electric vehicles.

This is a pet free cottage, we have our own dogs next door who are very friendly if you'd like to meet them but they are kept in our own grounds and separate from the cottage garden.

We're very sorry but no smoking, vaping, barbeques or candles.
